Katie Bowdery
contemporary fine artist.

This gallery consists of 2 large scale series of edited 'drawings' and 2 narrative Zines exploring time, touch and silence.
With a nod to the sublime, these pieces immortalise a single moment of movement.
The traces of ink left on the image, are becoming subjectively representational.
Allow yourself to be drawn into its vastness.

[a sensitive appreciation for the fragile and the quiet]

Let the silence be healing Zine

Let the silence be healing
Find peace in the sound of the movement of your blood washing through your heart.

Let the silence be healing
So, I say to you, Let the silence be healing.

Let the silence be healing Zine

Zines
These short narrative pieces use text written in 2018/19, each Zine following a specific train of thought. The imagery combines analogue and digital manipulation of photography, focusing on textural depth.

It seems as if, everything is touch

We touch the world with our eyes when the image bounces off of our retina...
We touch the world with our ears when we listen the small sounds that create the big ones We touch the world with our nose As we breathe deeply over and over - The sent forming a memory in our minds - taking us back to a time | a place | a person We touch the world with our tongue Swallowing words that we refuse to speak We touch the world with our fingers So often that we forget to experience the sensation

to touch

It seems as if, everything is touch
